King Rollo Films is set to create a TV series based on the McDoogle's Monster Farm picture book series by James McNight (Top That Publishing).
The production company signed the deal with McNight, who jointly owns all the rights to the property with brand developer Clare Stead, and is planning on making a 52 x 11-minute pre-school series.
McDoogle's Monster Farm follows the adventures of Diggle and his canine friend Noober as they try and overcome the challenges of a farm inhabited by monsters. There are currently two books in the series, Only Nooglebooglers Glow in the Dark and The Day the Gogglynipper Escaped. Both books are illustrated by Mark Chambers.
Leo Nielsen, founder and president of King Rollo Films, said the monsters in the series are “fun”, adding: “The concept is a wonderfully original creation by Clare and James, and I feel privileged they are trusting King Rollo Films to take the project to broadcasters and children everywhere.”
Nielsen’s company has also created TV productions of Eric Hill’s Spot the Dog series (Warne) and Lucy Cousin’s Maisy books (Walker).
