Sir Ian McKellen has gone back into the recording booth for Michelle Paver’s first Wolf Brother book in 10 years.
Viper’s Daughter will be released on 2nd April by Head of Zeus imprint Zephyr and, like the series’ previous six titles, McKellen will narrate the audio version.
He said: "Viper’s Daughter is as thrilling as any of the previous books in Michelle Paver’s unique series."
The seventh book in the award-winning series plunges readers back into the world of Torak, Renn, and Wolf in “an exhilarating adventure where nature is honoured, demons thrive, and the bonds of friendship are tested”.
Paver said: "It’s been absolutely magical to be back in the recording studio with Sir Ian McKellen. His reading of Viper’s Daughter is as fresh as if he’d only been away from Torak’s world for a few days, not years - and the way he becomes Wolf is a joy to behold. His legions of fans of all ages will love it."
Maz Brooks, assistant acquisitions editor at WF Howes, added: "It has been a delight to have Sir Ian in the studio and to work with him. His narration talent equals the storytelling brilliance of Michelle, bringing so much energy, commitment, and excitement to the characters. Viper’s Daughter with Sir Ian is a definite must-listen."
