Merrion Press has scooped the "tell-all" memoir from world champion boxer Carl "the jackal" Frampton entitled My Autobiography, written with Paul D Gibson.
Publisher Conor Graham acquired exclusive world rights from Frampton. The autobiography will be published on 5th October 2023.
Frampton’s "compelling" autobiography reveals the most personal aspects of being a fighter and speaks openly about Northern Ireland. It is a "uniquely intimate account of a true modern-day sporting great and a local hero like no other", wrote the publisher. Frampton commented: "This book has been years in the making so it’s very exciting now it’s time to share it with the world. Finally, I get to reveal the truth on everything that has happened in my life and career.”
Patrick O’Donoghue, commissioning editor, said: "I’m absolutely delighted that Merrion Press will be working with an icon of Carl Frampton’s calibre. His status as one of Irish boxing’s greatest legends is undeniable and now his superb autobiography will rightly take its place at the very top of the sports genre. In Paul D Gibson, Carl has found the perfect collaborator – an exceptional writer to help tell his story."
Gibson’s credits include the UFC fighter Dan Hardy’s ghost-written autobiography and a biography of Irish boxer Eamonn Magee which won the William Hill Sports Books of the Year and the Eir Sport Irish Sports Book of the Year 2018.
