Michael Joseph has acquired a new cookbook from Nadiya Hussain to tie-in with her upcoming BBC series in a two-book deal.
Daniel Bunyard, head of non-fiction, acquired world rights to Time to Eat from Anne Kibel at AK Artist Management. It will be published on 11th July priced £20.
The book promises to “take the stress out of cooking and put the joy back into every meal” with more than 100 time-saving recipes.
Its synopsis explains: “There are recipes for rushed weekday evenings and those relaxed Sunday afternoons, as well as clever kitchen hacks and time-saving tricks to make every breakfast, lunch and dinner, a little simpler. Short on time, but not on flavour, Nadiya uses inventive combinations to create tasty meals for all the family. Some delights to look out for include bao buns with spicy tuna, one tray peanut chicken, jackfruit curry and Nutella mousse.”
Hussain’s new BBC Two series of the same name will air later this year.
She said: “With so many of us living super-busy lives, it's hard to find the time that we all deserve to eat delicious food. In this book, I'm going to show you how I cook at home and feed five hungry mouths in a hurry, from super-fast store cupboard staples to make-ahead meals and treats. I'm excited to be working again with the great team at Michael Joseph."
Bunyard added: “Nadiya is a dream author. She's incredibly hard-working and immensely talented, so we're very proud at MJ to be publishing this new cookery book with her. As a busy mum, presenter and writer, she knows all too well how hard it is to find time to eat, but also knows how important it is for all of us. Along with delicious new recipes, she'll be sharing her tips and secrets to help readers become time-smart cooks."
