Michael Joseph has bought two novels by saga author Daisy Styles.
Rebecca Hilsdon, editor at Michael Joseph, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Kate Burke at Blake Friedmann. The first book in the new contract will publish in August 2020.
The two books will continue The Wartime Midwives series, following a group of young women at a mother-and-baby home on the edge of the Lake District during World War Two.
Hilsdon said: "Daisy’s warm voice and perfect blend of nostalgia and camaraderie make her books the ideal read for saga fans, and we are thrilled to continue publishing her."
Since her debut, The Bomb Girls (Michael Joseph), published in 2016, Styles has sold more than 137,674 books for £550,811, according to Nielsen BookScan.
Styles said: "Writing a new saga series set in the Lake District has been a complete joy for me. The back-drop of Morecambe Bay, the Irish Sea and the Cumbrian Fells have all been a source of thrilling plot-lines and astonishing new characters."
