Michael O’Mara Books is publishing choreographer and TV judge Craig Revel Horwood’s autobiography, charting the highs and lows from behind the scenes of "Strictly Come Dancing".
The book will be Revel Horwood’s third autobiography, each of which have published with Michael O'Mara. While following on from 2013's Tales from the Dance Floor, the new book publishes roughly a decade on from his inaugural 2008 memoir, All Balls and Glitter. Entitled In Strictest Confidence, the latest installment hits shelves on 18th October 2018 as a £20 hardback.
Michael O’Mara has promised the book will be complete wih the author's "trademark wit" and "a wealth of backstage gossip". It will see Revel Horwood share his views on changes in the show’s line-up - from Bruce Forsyth and Len Goodman’s departures to the arrival of Claudia Winkleman and Shirley Ballas - as well as the dancers and stars.
Meanwhile, outside of the "Strictly" bubble, Revel Horwood will also discuss his appearances in musicals such as "Sister Act" and "Annie", and his foray into movies. He will also talk about his personal life, revealing "fresh heartache over failed romances", "the pain of losing his dad" plus touching on other "personal milestones" including turning 50 and moving from London to the countryside.
"It’s wonderful to be writing another volume and working with Michael O’Mara Books again," said Revel Horwood. "I’m told I should slow down as I get older, which is ridiculous as I seem to have speeded up! I have lots of stories to tell, many of which I hope will raise a smile … all told In Strictest Confidence, of course!"
World English language rights were acquired from Gavin Barker at Gavin Barker Associates. Louise Dixon, senior editorial director at Michael O’Mara Books, commented: “It’s a real delight to be working with Craig on In Strictest Confidence. The mix of stories and photographs from his private life and from show business – told with his wicked humour and frank openness – make it a wonderful read.”
Revel Horwood’s autobiography will come out at a similar time to "Strictly" ballroom dancer Anton Du Beke’s "sweeping historical" debut novel, One Enchanted Evening, publishing with Bonnier Zaffre as a "super lead" on 4th October.
