Michael O'Mara crosses the finish line for Richards' 'insightful' book on F1

Michael O’Mara has signed F1 Racing Confidential: Inside Stories from the World of Formula One from Guardian journalist Giles Richards.

Commissioning editor Ross Hamilton acquired world all-language rights directly from the author for publication on 29th February 2024.

With a foreword from former F1 world champion Damon Hill and contributors from driver Lando Norris, Red Bull’s Christian Horner and Mercedes’ Toto Wolff, F1 Racing Confidential is an "insightful and revealing" book which "delves deep into the fascinating world of Formula One".

Richards has covered Formula One for the Guardian and Observer for the past two decades and has "unparalleled" access to the inner workings of the sport.

He commented: "I began this book wanting to lift the veil on the roles of the men and women behind F1 and about whom little is known. Then, in the process of meeting them and in extensive interviews it became clear that their unique tales, their journeys to the sport and indeed their voices were every bit as fascinating as the work they did.
