Pan Macmillan has bought two more books from psychological thriller writer, TV producer and script editor Michelle Frances.
Frances' summer debut The Girlfriend, which looks at the potentially charged relationship between a girlfriend, her boyfriend and ‘his mother’, has sold more than 200,000 copies all across formats, according to Pan Macmillan. It has sold in 14 territories including the US, and film rights are now with the Imaginarium Studios.
Frances' next book is about "a particularly ambitious maternity cover set in the world of TV" and will come in 2018. The two new books in the deal are due in 2019 and 2020, with further details yet to be released.
Publishing director Trisha Jackson acquired UK and Commonwealth rights in two new books from Gaia Banks at Sheil Land Associates. Jackson commented: "I have so enjoyed working on The Girlfriend with Michelle and we are all very excited about its success. And now we’re all looking forward to building Michelle’s career with these new books."
