Mills & Boon has acquired Rush by Saskia Roy. Publisher Manpreet Grewal acquired world all language rights from Jessica Faust at BookEnds Literary Agency. It will publish in paperback original, e-book and audio in March 2024.
The book follows Lena Aden who came to Los Angeles to make it big as a writer. “Five years later, she’s still chasing the dream and wondering if it’s time to start over” the publisher teased. “Nico Laurent is the Formula 1 World Champion – and the most desirable bachelor in the world. He’s used to getting any woman he wants, and he’s decided he wants Lena. After their first night together, Lena can’t get Nico out of her head. She engineers a second meeting and suddenly Lena is pulled into a heady world of fast cars, parties, and money.”
Roy said: “I have been a Formula 1 fan for over 20 years and all my whisper networks tell me that young female fans are crying out for a novel like Rush – edgy and sexy with all the flashy elegance of Formula 1. I am particularly delighted to be working with Mills & Boon who have such an extraordinary pedigree when it comes to romance. I can’t wait for readers to fall in love – and hate – with Nico Laurent and all he has to offer.”
Grewal said: “Rush is a sizzling story of desire and obsession, and I’m certain that readers will become as fixated with Lena and Nico’s passionate affair, as I have. Perfect for fans of Sylvia Day, Lauren Asher, and Hannah Grace, not only does Rush explore the intoxicating side of the world’s sexiest sport, it also delivers exactly what readers of this genre want – plenty of on-the-page chemistry and spice!”
