Octopus imprint Mitchell Beazley has grabbed a new cookbook of oven-based dishes from food writer Diana Henry.
Denise Bates, group publishing director at Octopus Publishing Group, acquired world rights in all languages for From the Oven to the Table directly from the author. It will be published in September.
Most of the recipes in Henry’s book can be cooked in one dish or tin. The synopsis explains: “You simply prep the ingredients, put them in the oven and let them roast or bake while you get on with your life. From quick after-work suppers and vegetarian meals to more substantial feasts for friends, these recipes are vibrant and modern.”
Henry has written 11 books, most recently How to Eat a Peach (Mitchell Beazley), which won this year's André Simon Food Book of the Year. She has a weekly column in the Sunday Telegraph and writes for BBC Good Food, House & Garden and Waitrose Weekend, as well as being a regular broadcaster on BBC Radio 4 and a podcaster.
She said: “I’m thrilled to be publishing my next book with Mitchell Beazley, my publisher for the last 19 years. From the Oven to the Table is full of recipes for dishes that you can throw together and slam in the oven. I’m always amazed how heat can transform the simplest ingredients. My books Cook Simple and Simple featured many dishes like this – it’s my favourite way to cook – but From the Oven to the Table is entirely made up of this kind of food. I think it’s a really useful book.”
Bates added: "If anyone needed conclusive proof that Diana has an unerring instinct for creating recipes that make life both simpler and more delicious, here it is. I guarantee that these stress-free dishes that you can lift straight from the oven to the table will become your friends for life.”
