Mitchell Beazley picks Pritchard's book on growing and designing a garden

Mitchell Beazley, part of the Octopus Publishing Group, has signed Outside In by gardener and garden designer Sean A Pritchard.

Publisher Alison Starling acquired world rights in all languages direct from the author for publication on 11th April 2024.

Organised by season, Pritchard explains how to grow, harvest and arrange "nature’s bounty" in Outside In regardless of the size of your plot or experience. He also shows the reader how to plan a garden "so every month of the year there’s something to bring indoors and display". All the photographs in Outside In were taken at Pritchard’s home in Somerset.

Starling commented: "I discovered Sean on Instagram – where he has a very engaged following of more than 100,000 garden‐ and home‐lovers – but his skills as a gardener and decorator are timeless, creating gorgeous living still lifes from a few flowers or twigs using containers that are to hand and without a large garden or spacious home. Working with him on his first book has been a complete joy and I am delighted that we are already seeing keen interest for bookshop and festival events around publication."

Pritchard added: "I’m endlessly captivated by a sense of there being only the most tenuous of boundaries between the house and the garden.
