Mitchell Beazley, part of the Octopus Publishing Group, has acquired Get Changed: Finding the New You Through Fashion by fashion stylist Kat Farmer.
Farmer is the creator of blog and Instagram channel "Does My Bum Look 40 in This?" which documents her journey as a UK-based fashion stylist and offers an "honest, no-holds barred" opinion on fashion trends, interiors and beauty products.
Her first book is billed as the "ultimate style guide and confidence bible" which will show readers how to rediscover themselves through clothes. It will provide a step-by-step guide to building the ultimate new wardrobe, breaking down the process with easy-to-remember tips and tricks, ultimately aiming to inspire readers and instil confidence.
Publisher Alison Starling bought UK and Commonwealth rights from Laura McNeill at Gleam Futures. Publication is scheduled for April 2022.
Starling said: "I am a huge fan of Kat Farmer and her wise, warm and grounded approach to finding your best self through clothes. She is the woman we all need to get us out of those lockdown jumpers and joggers and back into clothes that make us feel happy and confident – whatever our age, body type or personal style. Mitchell Beazley are very proud to be publishing her first book."
Farmer commented: "The reason I wrote this book is because I truly believe that each of us deserve to look and feel fabulous, regardless of our size, budget or lifestyle. It’s not about being vain or fickle, it’s about the difference looking and feeling great can make to our confidence. It’s how we really can start changing our lives, one outfit at a time."
