Mitchell Beazley, part of Octopus Publishing Group, has scooped A Year in the Kitchen from Blanche Vaughan, food editor at House & Garden.
Publisher Alison Starling acquired world rights in all languages from Julian Alexander at the Soho Agency. The book will be published on 7th September 2023.
A Year in the Kitchen contains more than 150 "simple" recipes from Vaughan and guest chefs such as Sam Clark, Giorgio Locatelli, Annie Bell and Amy Poon.
Inspired by the seasons, the recipes are organised by their "star ingredient" such as leeks in spring and citrus fruits in winter. The book also features photos of the recipes, ingredients and "stylish cooking and eating spaces".
Starling commented: "Working with the House & Garden team of Blanche Vaughan, editor Hatta Byng and creative director Jennifer Lister has been such a joyful experience and we’re so proud of the result – from the book’s focus on the importance of good food in tune with the seasons, to its fabulous hot pink cloth binding. A Year in the Kitchen is destined to be a kitchen classic."
Editor at House & Garden, Byng said: "A Year in the Kitchen captures the essence of House & Garden’s monthly food pages. The recipes are interesting and imaginative but, importantly, doable for busy people wanting to cook and eat well."
Vaughan added: "It’s been exciting to curate House & Garden’s first cookbook, published and beautifully produced by Mitchell Beazley."
