MJ bags two more from Gytha Lodge

Michael Joseph has acquired two further novels from Gytha Lodge, the author of She Lies in Wait.

She Lies in Wait was a Richard & Judy Book Club selection and has sold in 12 languages.

World rights were acquired in two new novels from Lodge, which will continue the Jonah Sheens series, publishing in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Watching from the Dark, her second book, published last week.

Lodge said: "I’m beyond excited to be working on further books with the wonderful folk of Michael Joseph. I’m happy not just to be going further into the world of Jonah Sheens and his detectives, but also to have the privilege of working further with Joel Richardson and his fabulous team. I know it’s going to be as much fun as it is rewarding."

Of the acquisition, Joel Richardson, publisher at Michael Joseph, said: "I fell in love with Gytha’s writing immediately, but what’s becoming increasingly clear is that She Lies in Wait was no fluke. Lodge has sold 41,226 books for £256,991 through BookScan Total Consumer Market, with She Lies in Wait her bestseller at 33,823 copies sold in paperback.
