New independent publisher Moonflower Books has acquired The Coming Darkness, a dystopian climate change thriller by Greg Mosse, novelist Kate Mosse’s husband.
Described as ’Bladerunner’ meets John le Carré, The Coming Darkness will publish in hardback, e-book, and audiobook in the UK in November 2022. It was acquired by publisher and editor Christi Daugherty from Jason Bartholomew at The bks Agency, and will be Moonflower’s lead commercial title for 2022.
The bks Agency will be handling North America, translation, film and TV rights, liaising with the Gersh Agency in LA. The publisher has sold British Commonwealth rights, and expects to sell in other territories following the final edits.
Lee Child described the book as "superb", adding: "There’s an ominous drumbeat throughout, and pace and tension, and a subtle and scarily plausible dystopia – and above all there’s main character Alex Lamarque, who could be one of the greats. Greg Mosse writes like John le Carré’s hip grandson.”
