Hot Key Books, an imprint of Bonnier Books UK, has acquired a four-book series which sets Robin Hood in the 2020s by Robert Muchamore.
Senior commissioning editor Felicity Alexander, who acquired world rights from Clare Pearson at Eddison Pearson, said: “There is no one better than Robert at writing books that turn kids into readers. And now, with Robin Hood, he has created another absolute winner – the legendary British hero reimagined in the 2020s, along with a rich cast of accomplices, including Marion Maid, Freya Tuck, Little John and Will Scarlock. Robin and his friends have never been as cheeky – or as relevant.”
The stories take in heists, hacking and corrupt business dealings, and are aimed at readers aged 10+.
“After two stand-alone books with Bonnier/Hot Key, I’m delighted to have them launch my first new series in six years,” said Muchamore. “They are a publisher that is big enough to matter, yet small enough for an author to feel connected to the whole team.”
Book one, Hacking, Heists & Flaming Arrows, will publish in April 2020.
