Murdoch Books has acquired world rights to Ottolenghi Comfort co-author Helen Goh’s first solo cookbook, Baking and the Meaning of Life. Rights were acquired directly from the author. Baking and the Meaning of Life will be published on 2nd September 2025.
Goh is a psychotherapist, food writer, columnist and recipe developer who regularly contributes to the Sydney Morning Herald, Guardian and Observer. Her cookery book will include 100 of her favourite recipes.
Publishing director Jane Morrow said: "I’ve admired Helen’s baking and her gentle, careful recipe writing for an embarrassing number of years. She is both impressively skilful and wonderful to work with, so it’s a dream come true to help make her book the must-have baking book of 2025."
Goh said: "I am thrilled to be working with Murdoch Books to bring together the two loves of my professional life: baking and psychology. For years I have dreamed of publishing the recipes that are most precious to me and showing how baking creates meaning in our lives in so many ways, and I couldn’t ask for a better team to help make that dream a reality."
