A Netflix adaptation of William Sutcliffe’s 2008 novel Whatever Makes You Happy is in development, the author has confirmed.
On Twitter, Sutcliffe said: “After 10 years in development, this is finally happening! Whatever Makes You Happy is going to be a film - with a fantastic cast.”
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Netflix version is called "Otherhood" and the director is Cindy Chupack, who wrote the script with Mark Andrus. Patricia Arquette and Angela Bassett are in talks to star in the show and are both executive producers.
Jason Michael Berman is producing for Mandalay Pictures with Cathy Shulman for Welle Entertainment.
The novel, published in the UK by Bloomsbury, is about three men whose mothers show up at their New York homes unannounced.
