New Frontier Publishing has signed Jump for the Stars, the debut picture book from TV presenter and model Vogue Williams, illustrated by Tilia Rand-Bell.
World rights were acquired by publishing director Sophia Whitfield from Louisa McDonald at Money Management UK. Jump for the Stars will publish in October 2022.
"Jump for the Stars follows 14 super-active little children who don’t stop moving from morning to night, as they spend their day having fun," the synopsis explains. "Each spread is filled with bright, colourful and imaginative illustrations from talented illustrator Tilia Rand-Bell, and in the rhyming text, readers are encouraged to join in with the actions. With something to spot and lots to look at on every page, this is the perfect book for toddlers and young children. There’s even a nod to Vogue’s Irish roots in the story."
"We are thrilled to be publishing Vogue Williams’ first children’s picture book. The story perfectly aligns with her ethos and vision for a healthy lifestyle for everybody," said Whitfield.
Williams is known for her career as a TV, podcast and radio presenter and businesswoman. She is also a fitness advocate, regularly participating in Instagram Live work-out streams to her thousands of followers.
She said: "To write my own children’s book, and be able to read it to my own children, has been a real dream come true moment for me. As a mum of two, I know only too well how essential books are for every child’s development, imagination, entertainment and so much more. Reading books is something that happens every day in our household, especially during Theodore and Gigi’s bedtime routine. Although Theodore would probably read all day long if he could. The 14 children in this book all want to have fun and be the best version of themselves. I hope everyone reading the book will take some kind of inspiration from it because life is what we make it."
