Headline has acquired a new memoir from musician Frank Turner, Try This At Home.
Tracing his journey as a songwriter, and following on from his first memoir about being a touring musician, The Road Beneath My Feet (Headline, 2015), Turner's new book will delve into the stories behind his songs. It will also be accompanied by a UK tour to promote the book and the release of an exclusive limited edition with PledgeMusic.
Senior commissioning editor Richard Roper, who acquired world rights from Charlie Caplowe at Xtra Mile Management, said: "Anyone who loved Frank’s first book will be equally enamoured with all the behind the scenes tales of how his incredible catalogue of songs took shape. But this is also a book for anyone interested in a beautifully written and honest account of just what it takes to be a professional songwriter."
Turner added: "Writing one book might be some kind of accident, but writing two makes me feel like…a proper writer! I spend almost all my time thinking about songs and songwriting, so it's been great to actually get some of that down on paper. I hope you enjoy it too."
The singer-songwriter's new book is scheduled for publication on 21st March 2019.
