Imogen Taylor, publishing director at Tinder Press, has acquired a "special nature memoir" from Neil Ansell, author of Deep Country (Penguin).
The Rough Bounds is described by Taylor as "a book on nature and solitude, by a man who has spent his lifetime taking solitary ventures into the wild".
"The experience of being in nature alone is here set within the context of a series of walks he takes into the rough bounds of the Scottish Highlands. As a counterpoint to this, Neil also writes about his hearing loss, and how that affects his relationship with nature as the calls of the birds which are so familiar to him become less clear," said Taylor.
Tinder Press acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Jessica Woollard at the David Higham Agency and will publish in Spring 2018.
