Rebel Girls has announced a new volume in its bestselling series Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls, featuring “barrier-breaking” women under the age of 30 including tennis player Emma Raducanu and Greta Thunberg alongside singer and actress Zendaya.
Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: 100 Inspiring Young Changemakers will be published on 27th September 2022, and will feature a foreword by conservationist Bindi Irwin who also features in the book.
The fifth volume of the series features work by creators aged 11 to 30 including 13 contributing authors and original illustrations by 90 artists from around the world, as well as the book’s editors.
Jess Harriton, editor, said: “It’s exciting to lead 100 Inspiring Young Changemakers, which was made by creators aged 30 and under. This volume showcases the power and potential of young girls and women today. As we celebrate these contemporary Rebel Girls who are making the world better in so many ways, we empower our global community of girls to see themselves as changemakers.”
Irwin added: “It is an honour to be writing this foreword as the Rebel Girl series has inspired me from a young age. I hope this new edition empowers young changemakers around the world to believe in their strength to make a difference. The young people today are tomorrow’s voters and decision makers. Everyone should have the opportunity to stand up for creating positive change."
Rebel Girls has also partnered with Room to Read, a global non-profit organisation which aims to create a world free from illiteracy and gender inequality, to include stories in the book of four girls’ education programme participants from countries including Sri Lanka, Nepal, India and Vietnam.
Rebel Girls and Room to Read are also collaborating on a localised, proprietary mini edition of the book to reach girls in an additional nine languages and six countries.
