Nobel Prize winner Barry Marshall pens time travel adventure

Oneworld imprint Rock the Boat has acquired the UK rights to How to Win a Nobel Prize, a middle grade adventure for young scientists, by Nobel Prize winner Barry Marshall.

The book is about a girl called Mary who one day stumbles on a secret meeting of Nobel Prize winners, including Albert Einstein and Marie Curie. She then travels through time to learn the secrets behind some of the world’s most important scientific discoveries.

Commissioning editor Shadi Doostdar acquired the manuscript from Sophy Williams, international director at Black inc in Australia and will publish in 2019 with illustrations by Bernard Caleo.

Marshall won the Nobel Prize in 2005 with Robin Warren for their discovery of the bacterium Helicobacter pylori and its role in gastritis and peptic ulcer disease.
