Independent publisher Nosy Crow has acquired 10 new titles from award-winning author and schoolteacher Pamela Butchart.
Kirsty Stansfield, head of fiction at Nosy Crow, acquired world rights from Becky Bagnell at The Lindsay Literary Agency.
Illustrated by Thomas Flintham, five books in the Baby Aliens series for 7+ readers are part of the major acquisition. A trio of titles in the Wigglesbottom Primary range for 5+ readers with illustrations by Becka Moor and two picture books have also been snapped up.
On 5th March 2020, Nosy Crow published the sixth Wigglesbottom Primary title, Break-Time Bunnies, which was also a collaboration between Butchart and Moor. The Baby Aliens titles add to the series of Izzy books, the tenth instalment of which is coming out in August.
Butchart has published books that have won the Blue Peter Book Award and the Children’s Book Award. In 2018, the author and schoolteacher championed World Book Day with her £1 book The Baby Brother from Outer Space. The author’s latest book, Icarus was Ridiculous, was published in association with the British Museum. Butchart’s titles are available in 17 languages and have sold more than 950,000 copies to date.
Butchart said: “I’m chuffed to bits! I can’t wait to write more adventures about Izzy and her friends (she has a lot more to say!).”
Bagnell added: “I am over the moon that Nosy Crow are going to be publishing 10 more books – they are one of the best in the business.”
