Three "definitive" illustrated guides from photographer Michael Freeman, photojournalist Anna Bruce and watch expert James Dowling will be published under Octopus Colour, a strand of Octopus Publishing Group, in the autumn.
Bruce’s "beautifully packaged guide to understanding and enjoying agave spirits" in Tequila, Mezcal and More will be published on 21st August 2025. Jeannie Stanley, commissioning editor at Mitchell Beazley, acquired world English rights directly from the author. The book will be published with Bruce’s photography and specially commissioned illustrations from Mexican illustrator Uriel Barragán, known as "Bouler".
"Tequila sales look set to double worldwide in the next decade, and Tequila, Mezcal & More stands apart as one of the first books to showcase everything you need to know about how to enjoy and appreciate the full range of agave spirits, as well as the people and places behind your drink", said Stanley. "With her unparalleled knowledge and passion for the subject, Mexico-based agave spirit expert Anna Bruce is the perfect author for the book."

Freeman’s The Photographer’s Eye brings his "groundbreaking" book of the same name up to date. The new edition will include 30% new content, looking at the latest developments in photography, and never-before-seen images. Richard Collins, commissioner of photography and tech at Ilex, acquired world rights directly from the author for publication on 28th August 2025. "I’m delighted to have been able to work with Michael on the new edition of his seminal work, The Photographer’s Eye," said Collins.
Cassell publisher Trevor Davies acquired world all-language rights directly from Dowling for The Rolex Legacy. Davies described the book as "stunning and comprehensive" that "showcases, the best, rarest and seminal watches from 120 years of the Rolex".
Dowling said: "This book distils over 40 years of collecting and researching Rolex, both the watches and the company. It looks at both from a completely new viewpoint. The hardest part of the job was deciding what to leave out, but every watch shown here was a step on the road to becoming the icon Rolex are today."
