Octopus has signed a slew of non-fiction titles at Frankfurt Book Fair 2024.
Acquisitions include: Oasis The Master Plan, the first book on the band from their "trusted chronicler" and photographer Kevin Cummins, The Akashic Records from Theresa Cheung and Still: A Mindful Practice for Photographers, a "revolutionary" take on photography from Paul Sanders.
Octopus Colour publishing director Alison Starling acquired world all language rights for Oasis The Masterplan from Carrie Kania at Conville & Walsh. The "Oasis book of the year" will be published in April 2025 under the Cassell imprint, with previously unseen images and recollections from Noel Gallagher.
World all-language rights were acquired by commissioning editor Louisa Johnson from Mark Gottlieb at Trident Media Group for The Akashic Records. In the book spiritual expert Cheung "leads us on the path to enlightenment by introducing a new realm of self-discovery". The book will be published under Godsfield Press in June 2025.
Commissioner Richard Collins signed world all-language rights directly from landscape photographer Sanders for Still. Sanders’ book presents a "whole new approach to picture taking" and "will guide the reader through a series of reflective writings and visually metaphoric images, coupled with simple exercises". Still will be published in October 2025 with Ilex.
