Penguin Random House is publishing former One Direction star Zayn Malik's autobiography on 1st November.
Zayn, the only official book, will be authored by Malik himself and promises to give readers insight into his world as "one of the most celebrated British artists of our time" sharing a photographic journey of his life. The book comprises a "collection of thoughts" and "inspirations", in addition to personal stories, notes and drawings, and exclusive personal photographs.
In the introduction to Zayn, Malik says: "I’m going to show you as much as I can so that you can judge me on my own terms, not on what the press or anyone else says."
Malik was raised in Bradford before rising to fame as one fifth of boy band One Direction, discovered on the "X Factor" ITV show in 2010, along with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson. He quit the band in 2015 and has since embarked on a solo career. His launch single "Pillowtalk", and album of the same name, has topped charts in several countries including the UK and US.
A spokesperson for PRH said: "The beautifully illustrated book encapsulates his outlook on life: his inspirations, experiences and his candid thoughts on fame, success and music."
Zayn will be published in hardback on 1st November 2016, priced £18.99.
Penguin Random House is also releasing a "behind-the-scenes" autobiography with girl band Little Mix this autumn. The band was also formed on the "X Factor", on the series after One Direction was featured, and Malik famously dated one of the group's members, Perrie Edwards.
