Oliver Jeffers has signed a multi-book deal with HarperCollins Children’s Books (HCCB) which extends his relationship with his long-time publisher to 2027.
Alice Blacker, publishing director for picture books, bought rights for UK and Commonwealth, including Canada and Europe along with translation rights in all languages, from Paul Moreton at Bell Lomax Moreton.
HCCB said this year would be “a landmark" for Jeffers as it marks 20 years since the publication of his very first picture book, and will see the release of Where to Hide A Star, the "long-awaited" return of his the boy and the penguin characters”. HCCB said it will celebrate the anniversary with year-round marketing and PR activity as well as anniversary publishing.

For 20 years, they’ve been bringing joy and delight to families across the world – and to everyone at HarperCollins, his publisher since the beginning. Jeffers, who is now published in almost 50 languages, said: “I’m thrilled to be working with HarperCollins on more books and to continue our collaboration beyond the 20 years that we have been working together”.
