One More Chapter has signed a two-book deal with Amanda James including The Garden of Memories and The Friendship Circle.
Publisher Charlotte Ledger acquired world all-language rights directly from the author. The Garden of Memories is scheduled for publication in June 2024 with The Friendship Circle following in 2025.
The synopsis for The Garden of Memories reads: "When Rose Lanyon retires from her nursing career with nothing but time on her hands, she finds herself drawn to the garden that had once been her late husband’s pride and joy. It may have started as a means of honouring her husband’s memory, but her little Cornish garden soon becomes so much more – a place where the lost and lonely can find solace, the forgotten can be remembered, and second chances take bloom."
James said: "I am beyond thrilled to have signed for two more uplifting books set in magical Cornwall. I’m also over the moon too to be working with my fabulous editor, Charlotte Ledger, and the One More Chapter team on these new stories!"
Ledger added: "Amanda conjures magic on the page with her escapist, emotional novels set in beautiful Cornwall and her new book, The Garden of Memories, is no exception. The idea for the book came from inspiring real life stories of community-led grief gardens springing up to support those who have lost loved ones, especially during the pandemic, and shines a light on the healing powers of nature and its effects on our mental wellbeing. With world all-language rights, I cannot wait to bring this uplifting novel to readers all over the world."
