One More Chapter has fallen for Donna Marchetti’s debut romantic comedy Hate Mail.
Publisher Charlotte Ledger and editor Ajebowale Roberts acquired world English language rights from Rebeka Finch at the Darley Anderson Literary Agency.
"Hate Mail is such a funny, beautiful, relatable book that will give readers a wonderful sense of Noughties rom-com nostalgia," said Finch.
Marchetti’s "heart-warming" enemies-to-lovers novel follows rivals and pen-pals Naomi and Luca. The synopsis continues: "Their hilarious chain of hate-filled letters start in the fifth-grade, and slowly develop into a friendship spanning coasts and years. That is until, one day, the letters suddenly stop. When a new envelope turns up out of the blue at Naomi’s desk at the local news station, she is determined not to let Luca have the final word."
Marchetti commented: "I am really excited to be working with One More Chapter. I knew right away that Hate Mail would be in good hands, as Charlotte and Aje have been very passionate about my book from the beginning. I am very grateful to Rebeka and the Darley Anderson Agency as well for believing in me and allowing me to share my stories with the world."
Ledger added: "I was in love with this book from the very first page. Naomi and Luca’s hilariously spiky, flirty letters immediately reminded me of all the very best enemies to lovers rom-coms especially Nora Ephron. I am thrilled to be publishing Donna’s swoony debut and, with a cover illustrated by the incredibly talented Leni Kauffman, I know this is going to be a must read for rom-com fans everywhere."
