One More Chapter has netted a psychological thriller about female friendship, a dark secret and revenge from Jackie Kabler in a two book deal.
Editor Kathryn Cheshire negotiated world English language rights with Clare Hulton. The untitled thriller will be published in 2021 followed by another in 2022.
Kabler is a former a newspaper reporter and TV news correspondent for GMTV, ITN and BBC News. She now divides her time between crime writing and working as a presenter on shopping channel QVC and has a degree in zoology from Trinity College Dublin. Her most recent novel with the imprint, The Perfect Couple, hit number two in the Kindle charts and has sold 100,000 in two months, according to the publisher. It is released in paperback this month.
She said: “It’s been fantastic to have been with One More Chapter since its launch, and to have had the support of such a dynamic and passionate team for my first two psychological thriller releases. I’m absolutely delighted to be working with them, especially my wonderful editor Kathryn Cheshire, on a further two novels.”
Cheshire added: “Jackie is a complete joy to work with, and her writing is going from strength to strength. Twisty, sharply written and incredibly gripping, her books keep me on the edge of my seat, and it’s been fantastic to see the reaction to her latest book, The Perfect Couple, which has spent eight weeks in the Top 10 so far, and is still riding high. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next and am so excited to be working with both her and Clare on continuing to grow her within the One More Chapter list."
