Orbit has landed Trial of the Sun Queen and the subsequent three books in the Artefacts of Ouranos series from self-published author Nisha J Tuli.
Joelle Dieu at Grand Central Publishing sold UK and Commonwealth rights to commissioning editor Nadia Saward at Orbit UK after a three-way auction, with plans to publish this autumn. Madeleine Colavita, editor at Forever, originally acquired world English rights from Lauren Spieller at Folio Literary Management in a seven-figure deal and will also publish in the US this autumn.
German rights sold to Droemer Knaur in a pre-empt for six figures by Thomas Schlueck Agency; French rights sold to Michel LAFON after a four-bidder auction, in a six-figure deal by the Michelle Lapautre Agency. The book has sold in 13 territories around the world so far.
The e-books in the first two books, Trial of the Sun Queen and Rule of the Aurora King are publishing today (15th August), with paperbacks to follow in October this year. Book three in the series, Fate of the Sun King, will be publishing in summer 2024.
Saward said: “I devoured Trial of the Sun Queen in a single sitting with my heart in my throat. It’s a masterclass in enemies to lovers fantasy romance, with gorgeous worldbuilding. Nisha J Tuli is destined to be the new queen of romantasy!”
Tuli added: “I’m so incredibly excited to see this series find a new home with Orbit UK, and I can’t wait to work with Nadia and their whole team to bring my glittery fantasy romance to a whole new group of readers.”
