Orion Dash has scooped Emma Jackson’s "hilarious" and "heartwarming" novel Witch You Weren’t Here in a two-book deal.
Sanah Ahmed, editorial assistant, acquired world English rights directly from the author. Witch You Weren’t Here is expected to be published in e-book and audio in October 2023.
The synopsis reads: "Kay has a perfect plan: stop off in Prague to fix her misbehaving magic and make it home in time for her brother’s wedding. But when an unscheduled hurricane hits and flights are cancelled, she knows she has to find another option—even if the other option is teaming up with Harry, the handsome witch who broke her heart as a teenager. Can Kay put her feelings aside? Or will they become impossible to ignore?”
Ahmed commented: "Fun, heartwarming and wickedly enchanting, Witch You Weren’t Here is the perfect witchy rom-com. It is filled with angst, misbehaving magic and characters that you can’t help but just root for. I am so excited about this next step for Emma and cannot wait to publish her witchy rom-com in October 2023."
Jackson added: "I’m over the moon to be working with Sanah and able to continue my publication journey with Orion Dash in this new, magical direction. Witch You Weren’t Here was a joy to write and I hope Kay and Harry’s story will sweep readers up into a world they find as fun and romantic as I did."
