Orion Fiction has won a four-way auction for Bailey Hannah’s cowboy romance series Wells Ranch in three-book deal. Sanah Ahmed, commissioning editor, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Rachel Kind, director of foreign rights at PRH US. Orion Fiction will publish the three-book series in 2025. Rights have sold in the US, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Ukraine.
The first book in the series, Alive and Wells, originally self-published by Bailey Hannah in 2023, follows city girl Cecily who seeks refuge on a remote cattle ranch and "finds herself not only falling for Austin, the local rugged cowboy and her boss, but for her new life too". Alive and Wells is followed by Seeing Red and Change of Hart.
Ahmed said: "The Wells Ranch series had me hooked from the first page. It has everything you could want in a cowboy romance: strong but vulnerable characters you can’t help but root for, an irresistible and rugged cowboy or two, and the perfect amount of spice. Bailey is such a talent and will have readers kicking and squealing on one page and crying on the next. I cannot wait for readers to meet and fall for their new favourite cowboy."
Hannah said: "I’m thrilled to be working with the incredible team at Orion Fiction to share the Wells Ranch series with more readers. Sanah’s enthusiasm and deep understanding of my stories have truly inspired me, and I can’t wait for everyone to fall in love with Wells Ranch."
