Lia Louis has signed a new two-book deal with Orion Fiction, with the first title, Eight Perfect Hours, to be published in August 2021.
Editorial director Charlotte Mursell acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Juliet Mushens at Mushens Entertainment.
Louis originally signed a two-book deal with Orion imprint Trapeze in 2018 and Somewhere Close to Happy and Dear Emmie Blue were published in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
Louis' latest title is inspired by an ancient Chinese proverb, where an invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet; it may stretch or tangle, but it will never break. In Eight Perfect Hours, Noelle and Sam's lives collide and the pair spend a perfect evening together believing they will never see each other again, but their lives soon become tangled in ways they never expected.
Mursell said: "Lia’s novels have the very rare ability of giving you goosebumps from top to toe, and making you laugh and cry in the same sentence. Dear Emmie Blue and Somewhere Close to Happy have enchanted readers everywhere and we have big plans to send Lia’s star soaring even higher with Eight Perfect Hours."
Louis commented: "I am so thrilled to be working with Charlotte on the Orion Fiction list. Her vision for this book and beyond makes me so excited for the future, and I can’t wait to share Eight Perfect Hours with readers!"
Eight Perfect Hours will be published in paperback, e-book and audio in August 2021.
