Orion Spring has snapped up Runner’s High, the "ultimate guide to finding your running groove" by presenter and host of "RunPod" podcast Jenni Falconer.
Editorial director Jessica Duffy bought world rights in an exclusive deal from Ibison Talent, who represented the author at the time of the deal. The book is set to publish in paperback original, e-book and audiobook on 14th March 2024.
"There is nothing quite like the runner’s high you experience after pulling on your running shoes, getting outside and finding your stride; and with Jenni Falconer’s advice and encouragement in your back pocket you will be ready to hit your favourite route with more bounce in your step than ever," the synopsis says. "Packed with research and stories from real runners, Runner’s High covers everything you need to know to find your running routine, overcome setbacks, discover the joy of running slowly and experience the power of finding your own running community."
Falconer said: "It is incredible how something so simple can be so rewarding – for me this is running, so writing this book was a privilege and an honour. Running has changed my life, my outlook and my mentality. It can be as effective as therapy, yet it costs nothing and helps you maintain a physical fitness as well as a mental wellness […] Runner’s High is essentially my declaration that running is more than just the motion, it can also be a way of life that defines you."
Duffy added: "As someone who has found and lost my running mojo more times that I can count, I have discovered so much motivation, encouragement and consistency by following Jenni’s positive and inclusive approach to running. This book is going to show readers that running isn’t just about your physical health and fitness – in fact, it can be the catalyst to a genuinely happier and more connected life."
