Pan Macmillan has pre-empted two "sensational sports romances" from "rising star" Simone Soltani.
Assistant editor Kinza Azira acquired world all-language rights to Cross the Line, the first book in the deal, and another untitled novel, from Silé Edwards at Andrew Nurnberg Associates. Cross the Line will be published on the Pan Fiction imprint as a paperback original in May 2024.
Both books involve "adrenaline fuelled Formula One romances" and will be part of Soltani’s Lights Out series. Cross the Line follows Formula One driver Dev Anderson, whose career is on the line, and his new social media manager Willow as they "race across the globe and attempt to keep things strictly business despite the growing chemistry between them".
Azira commented: "Cross the Line is easily the best sports-romance I’ve ever read, Simone is an incredible talent and without doubt will become an unmissable voice in the romance genre. For fans of Hannah Grace and Lauren Asher, Cross the Line is the perfect blend of high-stakes, 90s Bollywood references, secret relationships and enough spark to leave hearts racing."
Soltani added: "I’ve been a Formula 1 fan for years. Cross the Line is my light-hearted love letter to the sport, and it includes representation that means a lot to me. I’m so excited to be working with Pan Macmillan to be bringing the Lights Out series to readers worldwide, and I hope it can bring a little sunshine to others, just like it did for me."
