Pan Macmillan is publishing two more books from author, coach and freelance writer Rachael Lucas, whose debut Sealed with a Kiss (Pan) has been downloaded over 130,000 times on Kindle, according to the publisher.
Editorial director Caroline Hogg bought UK and Commonwealth English language rights in two further books from Lucas via Amanda Preston at LBA Books.
Hogg praised the "emotional honesty" of Lucas' books and called her "a dream to publish". The first new book in the deal will be set in Wales at a farm that offers equine therapy to those who've suffered trauma. It will publish in October 2018 in paperback and serialised e-book editions.
Lucas is also an author with Macmillan Children’s Books, and her first YA novel, The State of Grace, published earlier this year. She said: "It’s an absolute pleasure to work with everyone at Pan Macmillan (who I think truly deserve Publisher of the Year) and I am utterly delighted to be writing more books for them."
Pan Macmillan was crowned Publisher of the Year at the British Book Awards in May.
