Pan Macmillan has snapped up two more novels by Alexandra Potter.
Trisha Jackson, fiction publishing director, bought world rights from Stephanie Cabot at Susanna Lea Associates, New York.
The first book in the new contract is a sequel to Potter's Confessions of a Forty-Something F##k Up (Macmillan). Rights to that title have sold in 11 territories, and it is currently being developed as a TV series. Potter's second novel, One Good Thing, is set in Yorkshire, and will be published in hardback in April 2022.
Jackson said: “I am thrilled, along with the entire team, to be publishing more books from Alex. Apart from being an incredible talent, she is an absolute joy to work with and her fascination with people’s stories comes out in her storytelling. She is writing the kinds of relatable, heartwarming novels of friendship and hope, finding happiness and living the life unexpected that people currently yearn for. [These are] books that resonate with our current world. We have huge ambition for Alex and she is an author we believe is a contemporary fiction brand in the making.”
Potter added: “Trisha and the team at Pan Macmillan are the dream publishing team and I am over the moon to be continuing working together. We have all been thrilled by the reaction from readers all over the world to Confessions of a Forty-Something F##k Up and I am excited to be writing more of Nell and Cricket’s adventures.”
Cabot commented: “Trisha and Alex are the dynamic duo and Pan Macmillan has done a brilliant job publishing Alexandra. We are thrilled to be continuing our partnership.”
