Pan Macmillan has won a three-way auction for Gemma Morr’s cowboy romance series in a two-book deal. Kinza Azira, commissioning editor, acquired world rights, excluding Germany, from Judith Murray at Greene & Heaton. Untamed Heart, the first in The Diamond Black series and Morr’s debut, will be published in summer 2025.
Billed as a "sizzling hot romance", Untamed Heart tells the story of city girl Lottie Wright who moves back to her family ranch in Wyoming after being let go from her job as a lawyer. In her absence, the ranch "has become home to a found-family of rugged cowboys and daring bull riders".
Azira said: "Untamed Heart had me head over boots, from the outset. Gemma is an incredible talent: her found-family of scrumptious cowgirls and boys were impossible not to fall for, and set among the wild Rocky Mountains, this makes for a wonderfully escapist story, equal parts spicy and sweet. For fans of Paisley Hope and Elsie Silver, Untamed Heart is the perfect blend of Western romance, found-family, complicated relationships and spark that’s enough to set hearts galloping. I can’t wait for readers to discover The Diamond Black series."
Morr added: "I couldn’t be more thrilled that Untamed Heart and The Diamond Black series has found a home with Kinza and the wonderful Pan Mac team. I’ve been in love with cowboy country ever since my first visit to a ranch in Wyoming as a child, and I can’t wait for readers to discover it too."
