Pan Macmillan has netted former congressman Denver Riggleman’s The Breach: The Untold Story of the Investigation into January 6th.
Lucy Hale, publisher, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Steve Ross at the Steve Ross Agency. Sarah Crichton, Holt’s editor-in-chief, acquired North American rights and audio from Ross. The book will be published in the UK and US on 27th September 2022.
Riggleman is a former Republican congressman who served as the senior technical adviser to the US House Select Committee to investigate the January 6th attack on the United States Capitol.
Teaming up with investigative reporter and former White House correspondent Hunter Walker, The Breach gives behind-the-scenes insight into the findings of the committee and argues disinformation has been “weaponised” by former President Donald Trump and his supporters. Drawing on his experience as a former Air Force intelligence officer, Riggleman shows how conspiracy theories and “high-tech distribution mechanisms have combined to forge a dangerous movement the likes of which this country has never seen”. The Breach is also a “gripping” story of Riggleman’s experience on Capitol Hill and the events that caused him to leave the Republican Party.
Riggleman will appear in an exclusive global interview on CBS show “60 Minutes” on 25th September.
