Pan Macmillan has acquired two "sizzling" adventure romances from Colby Wilkens, including upcoming novel If I Dig You, publishing in March 2025.
Commissioning editor Lucy Brem acquired UK and Commonwealth rights excluding Canada to both novels from Chris Scheina, director for rights at Macmillan USA.
If I Dig You is a friends-to-lovers adventure romance, where archaeologists and best friends Isadora Ross and Louise Morgenstern become embroiled in a search for lost Cherokee gold. It’s been described as Indiana Jones with a rom-com twist.
Colby Wilken is a queer white and Choctaw-Cherokee author of young adult and adult romance and horror. She is represented by Rebecca Podos at Rees Literary Agency.
Brem said: "If I Dig You is utter perfection—a thrilling caper, sizzling with chemistry and delicious tension, for anyone who grew up loving Indiana Jones and National Treasure as much as they did a swoon-worthy rom com. Colby is such a talent, and I can’t wait for readers to be swept up in her worlds of romantic adventure!"
Wilkens said: "I’m so excited that If I Dig You and my next adventure romance have found their cosy home with Lucy and the Pan Macmillan team! They have been an absolute joy to work with already, and I’m so grateful that my stories get to reach an even wider audience."
