Pan Macmillan has netted two festive romance novels, Meet Me Under the Mistletoe and Winter of Second Chances, from Jenny Bayliss.
Editor Jayne Osborne acquired UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, from Hayley Steed at The Madeleine Milburn Literary Agency. In the US rights were sold to Kate Dresser at Putnam Books. Meet Me Under the Mistletoe will be published in November 2022 as a paperback original.
Meet Me Under the Mistletoe follows Nory Noel who reluctantly attends a week-long December wedding of some of her oldest friends at a castle near their former school. The publisher explained: "It should be the celebration of the year, but with the old gang reunited, it’s not long before personalities clash. Escaping from the melee, Nory runs straight into Isaac, her former rival and now the castle’s gardener. As the week goes on, Isaac and Nory draw closer, but as the wedding party grows ever more chaotic, are the differences of their past too hard to reconcile?"
Osborne commented: "Jenny is establishing herself as a must-read festive author with her distinctive brand of unforgettable characters, snort-out-loud humour and quirky, big-hearted small-town settings. Jenny is an absolute dream author, and I’m absolutely thrilled to continue working with her and Hayley in this next stage of her publishing career.”
Bayliss added: "I am so excited that I get to work with Jayne on another two books! The Pan Mac team are so supportive and nurturing, and to be able to continue writing for them is literally a dream come true. All I ever wanted to do was write books and Hayley and Jayne have made that possible. I can’t wait to jump into writing my next book!”
