Sphere has scooped Vicky Pattison's The Secret to Happy, in which she will open up about her darkest moments, from her public break-up with her fiancé to her struggles with mental health in her 20s.
The "Geordie Shore" star will also offer practical advice and tools for overcoming heartbreak, ending toxic relationships and managing mental health to help others find inner strength, accept imperfections and be true to themselves, said the publisher.
Nicky Crane, commissioning editor, acquired world rights from Gemma Wheatley at Mokkingbird. It will be published in hardback, audio and e-book on 6th January 2022.
Crane said: "I hugely admire Vicky in her willingness to be vulnerable and for being so open about her insecurities which, as followers of her Instagram and listeners of her podcast will know, she is fiercely passionate about. Her messages of positivity and self-compassion clearly resonate with her fans, so I’m thrilled that Vicky is sharing her experiences (plus some wickedly funny anecdotes) and distilling all her pearls of wisdom, many of which she’s never shared before, in The Secret to Happy. We all absolutely adore Vicky at Sphere, which has been her publishing home for almost a decade and where she sits alongside fellow Geordie superstars Ant & Dec and wellness guru Gwyneth Paltrow, and can’t wait to publish this really special book."
Pattison commented: "This book will be chock-full of all the lessons I’ve learnt and by sharing them with you lot, who mean so much to me, I’m hoping it will help you feel understood, supported and empowered, and help you get to grips with what’s going on in your life. I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs, and if there’s any women out there who are feeling like they’re going through things on their own, or they don’t quite have things figured out while everyone else around them looks like they do, or they’re worried that they’re not achieving what they should be, or feeling or looking how they should, I want this book to let you know you’re not alone."
Pattison rose to fame on the MTV's "Geordie Shore" and went on to win ITV's "I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here" in 2015. She currently hosts a podcast "The Secret To" where she discusses "personal and powerful messages about self-acceptance, compassion and self-love". Her debut book, Nothing But The Truth, was also published with Sphere in 2014.
