Bloomsbury has landed Bake by Paul Hollywood, his first book in five years, featuring "foolproof" recipes for a range of savoury and sweet breads and cakes.
Publishing director Rowan Yapp acquired world rights in all languages from Geraldine Woods at Yellow Poppy Media. Bake will be published on 9th June.
Hollywood is best known for his role as a judge on the "Great British Bake Off". Before the show, he worked as head baker at hotels including Cliveden and the Dorchester in London. He is the author of the How to Bake, Paul Hollywood’s Bread, Paul Hollywood’s Pies & Puds, Paul Hollywood’s British Baking and A Baker’s Life. This is his sixth book with Bloomsbury and his past titles have sold more than 700,000 copies through Nielsen BookScan in the UK.
"This is an unashamedly indulgent book," Hollywood said. "Over the past few years I’ve seen baking trends come and go but some things just don’t go out of fashion. Lockdown gave me a chance to get back in the kitchen and bake some of my all-time favourites. I loved every minute of it and can’t wait to share them with you."
The synopsis reads: "In Bake Paul Hollywood shares his best ever recipes for classic bakes: cakes, biscuits and cookies, breads and flatbreads, pizza and doughnuts, pastries and pies, and showstopping desserts.
"From classic cakes such as victoria sandwich and chocolate fudge cake, through brilliant breads such as foolproof sourdough, to savoury and sweet pastries such as sausage rolls and Danish pastries, these are the only recipes you’ll need to create perfectly delicious bakes time and time again. Paul combines every tip and trick he has learned together with his incredible technical know-how to create the ultimate collection of incredible bakes."
Yapp said: "Paul Hollywood truly knows the secret to delicious, go-to recipes. Bake, his first book in five years, has it all, from what makes the perfect loaf to foolproof recipes for beginner home bakers."
