Pavilion has signed a sustainability manifesto from Ben Lebus of budget-friendly food group MOB Kitchen.
Publisher Helen Lewis acquired world rights direct from the author for Earth MOB: Ditch plastic, cut food waste, save the planet, to be published in June 2020.
The synopsis states: “A bible for any ecologically-minded cook, the new book will feature zero-waste recipes, ingenious kitchen hacks to reduced food waste, how to shop and store food more efficiently and information on how to reduce your food footprint.”
Lebus explained: “We are very excited about the Earth MOB project–it couldn’t be coming at a more important time, and we want to do our bit in encouraging and guiding the MOB in to eating and living more sustainably in the kitchen.
“The books ties in perfectly with all the other sustainability focussed projects we are working on throughout 2020–last week we launched our food truck in partnership with the World Food Programme, where over 300 people turned up to get a zero-waste vegan meal for free if they brought a Tupperware. The idea was to encourage the use of reusable packaging and to raise awareness for global hunger.”
Lewis added: “Since launching in 2016, MOB Kitchen has been the mouthpiece for a generation of students and young professionals, and it is this generation that are mobilising to make an active change to the way we consume and how it affects the environment around us. We’re very proud to be publishing MOB Kitchen’s practical, no nonsense take on living sustainably.”
