Penguin Life has signed a major three-book deal with TV doctor and author Dr Rangan Chatterjee, focusing on how small changes can make a difference to lifestyle.
Venetia Butterfield at Penguin Life has acquired UK and Commonwealth rights to Feel Better in 5: Your Daily Plan to Supercharge Your Health and two more titles. The deal was brokered by Will Francis at Janklow & Nesbit UK.
Feel Better in 5 is the third book by Chatterjee, and will be published by Penguin Life on 26th December, priced £16.99.
The deal follows the GP's previous two books which were both published with Penguin Life, The Stress Solution (Penguin Life) published last year and his debut, The 4 Pillar Plan, which was won by the publisher in a six-way auction in 2017. He has shifted a total of 157,957 books for £1.57m, with The 4 Pillar Plan selling 110,258 copies, according to Nielsen BookScan.
“Drawing on Dr Chatterjee’s twenty years of experience and real-life case studies from his GP practice, this common sense plan shows how you can kick-start your health and happiness by following his simple 5 minute health plan,” the synopsis reads. “Top tips range from gut boosting foods that lift brain fog to strength workouts you can do anywhere. Dr Chatterjee shows how feeling healthier has never been easier and how small changes can make a big difference.”
Butterfield said of the deal: “I’m extremely proud and excited to be publishing Feel Better in 5. It’s revolutionary because it will lead to noticeable change without demanding that you wake up tomorrow morning and magically become a completely new you. This lifestyle plan is easy-to-follow, easy-to-maintain and can be incorporated into our modern, busy lives.”
Chatterjee added: “As we all know, trying to be healthy can be tough, but what if all it took to make a real difference was 5 minutes of your day? This accessible, fun and motivational lifestyle plan is the ultimate distillation of everything I’ve learned about health over two decades of research and practice and I really do believe it has the power to change hundreds of thousands of lives."
A practicing GP for the last two decades and resident “BBC Breakfast” doctor, Chatterjee most recently co-created the 'Prescribing Lifestyle Medicine' course with the Royal College of GPs, that has now been delivered to almost 1000 doctors and health care professionals. He is host of the podcast, “Feel Better, Live More” which has been downloaded over 6 million times and his TED talk, '
