Penguin Life is publishing monk Haemin Sunim’s second book, Love for Imperfect Things, providing "inspiring and practical advice for turning to ‘self-care’ and acceptance".
Love for Imperfect Things: How to Accept Yourself in a World Striving for Perfection will publish on the 24th January 2019 in hardback, priced £9.99. Daniel Crewe, publisher at Penguin Life, Viking and Portfolio, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Sabila Khan at Penguin US.
Sunim has 1.25 million followers on Twitter and his first book The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down sold more than 3 million copies around the world, of which the Penguin Life edition sold more than 200,000 units. His book was also shortlisted in the Non-Fiction: Lifestyle category at the 2018 British Book Awards.
Crewe said: "In the wake of The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down, we’re thrilled to be publishing a second book from Haemin Sunim. His inspiring and practical advice for turning to ‘self-care’ and acceptance, just as we should take oxygen on a plane before helping others, will help readers to immediately build more fulfilling relationships – with themselves and all those around them."
Sunim said: "I am very excited about my second book, Love for Imperfect Things. Since my first book came out I have met many people who put too much pressure on themselves – their relationships with their parents and friends, or their performance at work or school – feeling that they constantly need to prove their worth or ability. I want everyone who reads my book to realise that they are enough, and that if you accept yourself first, then the world begins to accept you, too."
