Penguin Michael Joseph has acquired Rewire: The (Neuro) Science of a Good Life by Nicole Vignola, a neuroscientist, corporate consultant, brain performance coach and public speaker, specialising in the plasticity of mindset change.
Commissioning editor Karolina Kaim pre-empted UK and Commonwealth rights from Abigail Bergstrom at Bergstrom Studio. North American rights were pre-empted by Sydney Rogers at HarperOne from Alexandra Cliff at RML, on behalf of Abigail Bergstrom. Senior editor Daniella Wexler will be picking up from Rogers on the editing.
Translation rights have already been sold in Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Finland, Greece, Croatia, Brazil, China, Russian and the Arabic language. Rewire, which “will explain the neuroscience behind cognitive wellbeing and how to change behavioural patterns to optimise your lifestyle and rewire your narratives”, will be published in 2024 in hardback, e-book and audio.
Vignola said: “I hope this book will help the masses by teaching people about their own physiology and neuroscience. This book teaches the reader that everything we need is already within us.”
Kaim commented: “As we know, brain wellness is evolving dynamically and will bear growing importance on the way we function – being a neuroscience maverick, Nicole is fully equipped to give us a ‘neuro-toolkit’ to kickstart that journey towards a much more conscious life.”
