Penguin Michael Joseph has signed Comfy, the first book from Chris Collins, the face behind food blog “Don’t Go Bacon My Heart”.
Dan Hurst, editorial director, pre-empted world rights from literary agent Clare Hulton, with publication scheduled for 26th October 2023.
Packed with over 80 recipes for "next-level comfort-food dinners for every occasion", from Burrata Caprese Pasta and Spanish-style Garlic Butter Prawns to Roasted Sweet Potato Salad with Poppy Seed Dressing and Soul Soothing Chicken Orzo Soup, the publisher says Collins has “curated a very special collection of simple, indulgent and joyful recipes that put flavour first, combining accessible ingredients, straightforward methods and failproof cooking advice for unforgettable meals every time".
Alongside winning in the culinary category at the UK Blog Awards in 2019, Collins has also been featured in the Vuelio Top 10 Food Blogs in both 2021 and 2022 and has worked with brands such as Iceland and Sainsbury’s. He has also featured on “Good Morning America” and “Crazy Delicious” on Netflix.
Collins said: “I’m beyond excited for the release of Comfy and couldn’t be more thrilled to do it in the wonderful hands of Dan and the team at Penguin Michael Joseph. Comfort food has been running through my veins for as long as I can remember and it’s something I’m hugely passionate about.
“Since starting my blog in 2015, my goal has always been to spread the joy of comfort food and create hearty, approachable and truly delicious recipes. Comfy is a collection of exactly that; feel-good flavour-loaded dinners that you’ll want to make over and over again. I cannot wait until October and I’m confident these recipes will bring as much joy to the reader as they do to me!”
Hurst commented: “Chris’ recipes walk the delicate line between being unbelievably delicious and weekend-worthy while also feeling completely achievable on a Tuesday night after a busy day at work. The book is packed with the kind of hug-on-a-plate dinners that we all crave at the end of a long, hard day. The moment I saw the recipe list I was sold (and very, very hungry!)”
